Obituary for Thomas Gene Miller

Thomas Gene Miller passed away January 7, 2019 in Decatur, Texas. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Donnell Cemetery near Eliasville, Texas. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Tom was born December 22, 1944 in Graham. He served in the US Marine Corps and was a forward artillery observer in Vietnam. He had served as Chief of Staff for National Commandant Helen F. Hicks, Southern Division Vice Commander and Commandant of the Texas Department of the Marine Corps League and Toys for Tots Coordinator for Young County for many years. Tom was a former Commander of VFW Post 8567 in Graham and was pack leader of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs which raised funds for children’s hospitals. He received the Distinguished Citizens Gold Award for distinguished service to the United States of America, United States Marine Corps, Marine Corps League.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mac and Margaret (Donnell) Miller, two brothers, Mike and Donnie and by a sister, Kay. Survivors include two daughters, Melanie and Jennifer and a sister, JoAnn Robitaille. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Donnell Cemetery, PO Box 584, Eliasville, TX 76481.
